Deep in the Höllental valley, tucked between sheer rock faces and snow-dusted fir trees, one of Germany’s most beautiful Christmas markets opens its gates on the four Advent weekends: the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market. Arching above the wooden stalls is the great Ravenna Viaduct – a historic railway bridge, lit up like a stage set from another century.

How to reach the Ravenna Gorge from our hotel

The Ravenna Gorge and its Christmas market are not far from Hotel Reppert. We’re happy to advise you on the best way to get there: by the Höllentalbahn railway, which crosses the viaduct itself, or by car. When does the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market take place?

The market opens on all four Advent weekends, Friday through Sunday. We’ll gladly share the exact dates and opening hours with you at reception.

Do I need tickets for the Christmas Market?

Yes. Visitor numbers are limited, and entry is by timed online ticket. We recommend booking early, tickets regularly sell out weeks in advance.

How far are the Ravenna Gorge and its Christmas market from Hotel Reppert?

The Ravenna Gorge is around a 6-minute drive (please note: parking tickets must be purchased in advance). Even easier: take the Höllentalbahn, which runs directly over the illuminated Ravenna Viaduct.

What can I expect at the market?

Around 40 wooden stalls with Black Forest craftsmanship, regional specialities and mulled wine, live music, open fires – and above it all, the illuminated viaduct. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are a must; the ground can be slippery in winter.

Does the market run in any weather?

Yes. Snow, rain, or clear starlit nights – the market stays open. In wintry weather, the gorge is at its most atmospheric.
