Yoga at our hotel in the Black Forest

Breathe. Feel. Settle in.

Amidst fir trees, crisp air, and sweeping views, yoga at our hotel in the Black Forest finds its natural rhythm. It gives you strength and lightness at the same time – for greater body awareness, peace of mind, and a sense of balance that sustains you. At Reppert, you can choose between Yang yoga, Yin yoga, or meditation – all classes are offered separately and are ideal for both beginners and experienced practitioners. In small groups, indoors or outdoors, with personal guidance and plenty of space to set your own pace.

Meditation

Posture, stability, renewed energy. Yang/Hatha yoga strengthens the body mindfully – with flowing movements that connect body and mind. Perfect if you want to gently improve your flexibility and strength without overexerting yourself. A practice that both energises and grounds you. Carefully guided, clearly explained – even for beginners.

Letting go takes time. In Yin yoga, you remain in calm, passive postures for several minutes – without effort, without ambition. The fasciae are gently stretched, the nervous system calms down, and the mind becomes still. A practice for anyone seeking depth – and who is prepared to do nothing. Individuality rather than alignment: every body is different, and we make sure that they all get what they need.

New from April 2026: advanced classes for anyone wishing to delve deeper into Yin sequences, longer holds, and subtle breathwork.

Meditation is not a technique. It’s a state of being. Guided breathing, a calm presence, and clear prompts to help you focus and enjoy a restful sleep. No prior experience required – just a willingness to pause for a moment. We enjoy combining meditation with mindful walks: unwinding, walking, sitting, breathing.

Claudia Meller-Lies –
yoga for every stage of life

No one is too old to take their first step on the path of yoga. Claudia Meller-Lies knows this from over 30 years of experience. As a social worker, she incorporated yoga and relaxation techniques into her work at an early stage. She has been passing on her knowledge since 1992 – gently, clearly, and with the conviction that everyone can continue to develop, whatever their age.

Her qualifications: relaxation techniques, yoga for all ages, yoga 50+ and 65+, hormone yoga according to Dinah Rodrigues, yoga and relaxation for children, an introduction to meditation with mindfulness exercises, silent meditation, and movement-based meditations from various traditions. Since 2015, she has been working mainly in Hinterzarten – and at Reppert.

Christine Reppert –
Yin yoga & meditation

Do less, feel more. Christine Reppert guides you mindfully through your Yin poses and accompanies you on your journey towards inner peace with guided meditations.

Sometimes the journey home takes you far out into the world first. Christine lived and studied abroad for many years – and learnt how good it feels when everything falls silent now and then. In 2012, she returned to Reppert. Since 2017, she has been in charge of a large part of the hotel: marketing, communications, administration, reception. The practice of silence eventually found its way to her: meditation since 2023, Yin yoga since late 2023 – currently training with Markus Henning Giess (Yin therapy).

Her approach is guided by the Four Immeasurables: Love, Compassion, Joy, Equanimity. Or as she likes to say: “Everything comes. Everything stays. Everything goes.”

The forest is her silent compass; her breath is her rhythm. With her son Carl and her dachshund Archie by her side, she’s reminded every day of what really matters: being there, listening, and softening. This is exactly how she leads her classes at the yoga hotel in the Black Forest: gently, clearly, and with genuine care. No pressure to perform, no grand words – just a space where people can find themselves.

Good to know

Do I need any previous experience for a yoga retreat in Germany?

No. Our beginner sessions are carefully guided and can be tailored to individual needs. From November 2025 to the end of March 2026, only beginner classes will be held.

When do the sessions take place?

You can find the latest dates in the Reppert app. Subject to change.

How big are the groups?

A maximum of 5 people – so that silence is guaranteed.

Where is it practised?

Inside the yoga studio. In the summer, weather permitting, we practise outdoors. We like to combine meditation with mindful walks.

What do I need to bring with me?

Everything you need is right here. Mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps. Please wear comfortable, warm clothing (jumper, socks). Optional: an eye pillow. We ask that you help create a mindful atmosphere: no mobile phones, keep it quiet, and please don’t come straight after meals (at least 1 hour’s interval).

Who is Yin yoga and meditation suitable for?

For anyone looking for peace and quiet – with or without previous experience. Our sessions are currently aimed specifically at beginners. From April 2026, we’ll also be offering advanced classes.

Is a short yoga retreat in the Black Forest enough – or is it better to stay longer?

A weekend is a wonderful start. But peace of mind needs time to take effect. If you stay for three, four, or more days, you’ll notice the difference: your breathing deepens, your sleep improves, and the stress of everyday life fades away. Our tip: why not treat yourself to an extra day?
