THE HISTORY OF THE HOTEL REPPERT SINCE 1935
A hotel with an enchantingly fresh face - welcoming and open-minded, Hotel Reppert has been combining tradition and innovation with warm hospitality for 85 years. A house that is constantly evolving: from a vegetarian guesthouse to an excellent holiday and wellness hotel. Changes over many decades and so treasures kept in the Reppert remind us of many stages and companions. They tell of yesterday and accompany us into the future:

Our story
Since 1953 the Hotel Reppert has been characterized by hospitality. Numbers cannot capture the living culture of Reppert today with its passion for guests, but they are nevertheless an exciting journey into the past of this traditional hotel in Hinterzarten:
- 1935 Elisabeth und Adolf Reppert establish the Reppert as a vegetarian guesthouse with a total of 20 beds.
- 1950 Adolf Reppert dies and his son Karl-Heinz continues business with his mother and from 1953 with his wife Gisela. The children Thomas and Volker were born in 1954 and 1958.
- 1966 extension with 16 beds, elevator, new dining room and the first private Hinterzarten indoor pool.
- 1967 - 79 The old building is modernized, the neighboring property of the Märklin house is acquired and in 1979 the hall, the restaurant and the east extension are rebuilt.
- 1980 Pension Reppert becomes Hotel Garni: Elisabeth Reppert hands the house over to her son Karl-Heinz. Her grandsons Thomas and Volker join the company as trained hotel specialists. From now on the house is called: Hotel Reppert.
- 1982 married Thomas and Annette Reppert. In 1986 daughter Christine was born, in 1988 son Jens.
- 1985 50th anniversary: Repperts bathing area is born.
- 1988 DThe passion for building continues: The complete renovation of the main building is imminent and further modernizations will shape the following years.
- 1995 60th anniversary: the "Vitalis" cosmetics area is opened. Awarded the Federal Creative Prize for the Badetherme.
- 1996 - 2002 The Hotel Reppert is classified with 4 stars.
- 2003 - 2008 awards from Stiftung Warentest, the red Michelin guide, 5 wellness stars and the hiking quality seal.
- 2007 The Reppert becomes a non-smoking hotel.
- 2008 another award with 3 lilies in the Relax Guide.
- 2010 75th anniversary addition of a second elevator, extension of the rooms and addition of balconies.
- 2010 - 2014 Some rooms get a fresh face and the restaurant shines in new splendor from 2014.
- 2015 core renovation of the entire cosmetics area and the wellness lounge.
- 2016 partial demolition of a part of the house, new rooms are created, core renovation of the junior suites.
- 2017 core renovation of the breakfast room and breakfast kitchen.
- 2018 core renovation of various room categories.
- 2019 various rooms have been renovated. Additionally we opened the WaldFunkeln LODGE at Alderweg 17 in Hinterzarten.
In Hinterzarten – we return to our roots and cherish things that truly matter
Luckily, Hinterzarten, as the village of the Olympic gold medalists, is historically fist-eyed: from the Black Forest village to an international health resort!
Hinterzarten used to be called "Hinter der Straß", Breitnau in the north was called "Vor der Straß". Between 1708 and 1750, today's spelling "Hinterzarten" appeared. The brook name "Zartenbach" probably gave the church and the place its name

- 1200 Clearing and settlement of new territory by farmers, a popular place of pilgrimage from the 13th century, the "Schwefelmätlle" source promised healing effects for eye problems.

- 1887 Opening of the Höllentalbahn as a tourist train, development of the Upper Black Forest (Hochschwarzwald) for tourism.
- 1923 Construction of the Kirchwaldschanze.
- 1924 Construction of the Adlerschanze, 1980-82: conversion to a modern "Mattenschanze".
- 1964 Awarded as a "climatic health resort" (under 54 in Germany): Földiklinik world-famous as a specialist clinic for lymphology.
